  • What is injected?

We inject highly purified polynucleotides—naturally derived DNA fragments (typically from salmon) that work to regenerate your skin from the inside out. We use the award-winning PLINEST range by Dermafocus, known for its clinical efficacy and safety.

  • What are the benefits of polynucleotides?

    Polynucleotides improve:

    • Skin texture, tone, and hydration
    • Fine lines and wrinkles
    • Under-eye hollows and pigmentation
    • Redness and rosacea
    • Skin elasticity and firmness
    • Overall radiance and skin health

It's ideal for patients seeking natural-looking skin regeneration without added volume or major downtime.

Polynucleotides can be used almost anywhere on the face and body, making them one of the most versatile injectables available.

    Most popular areas:

    • Under-eye circles and hollows
    • Full face for texture and tone
    • Neck and décolleté for crepey or sagging skin
    • Hands for age-related volume loss
    • Scalp for hair support

    Common concerns addressed:

    • Pigmentation and melasma
    • Rosacea and redness
    • Fine lines and wrinkles
    • Enlarged pores
    • Dehydrated and dull skin
    • Acne scarring

  • How long does the effect last?

Up to 6 months for most.

You’ll begin to see results within 2–3 weeks after your first session, with optimal results after a full course of 3 treatments.

Results typically last 6–12 months, depending on lifestyle and skin condition. We recommend maintenance sessions once or twice a year for long-lasting skin health

  • How is it injected?

The treatment itself involves injecting a small amount of the solution into specific areas of the skin.  In the face, there are 10 specific injection sites. The solution then diffuses evenly into the tissue, providing hydration and rejuvenation to the skin.

  • How many treatments will I need?

A typical course is 3 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart.

For best results, we advise a full course followed by maintenance every 6–12 months. Some patients may benefit from a fourth session depending on their skin goals.

  • Are there any side effects?

Most side effects are mild and temporary.

Here are some common side effects:

    1. Swelling and redness at the injection site. This is a normal response to the injection and should subside within a few hours to a few days.

    2. Bruising (if it occurs) can last up to a week.

    3. Itching or tenderness at the injection site. This is usually mild and should go away within a few days.

Allergic reaction. While rare, some people may be allergic to the product. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.

  • Do I need time off work?

While there may be mild redness or tiny bumps at the injection sites, these usually settle within a few hours. However for some this can persist for 2-3 days. You can apply mineral makeup the next day if needed.

  • What aftercare advice should I follow?

After receiving a Polynucleotide treatment, it is important to take certain precautions to ensure optimal results and reduce the risk of side effects.

Here are some tips for post-treatment care:

    1. Avoid touching or rubbing the injection site for at least 6 hours after the treatment. This is to prevent infection or irritation.

    2. Do not apply makeup for at least 24 hours.

    3. Avoid strenuous exercise/ heat, saunas, and steam rooms for 24-48 hours after the treatment.

    4. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help your body metabolize the product.

    5. Be patient with the results. It takes time to work, and you may not see the full effects for a few weeks.

  • Other commonly asked questions

Is this like Profhilo or Skin Boosters?

No – polynucleotides go deeper. They actively regenerate skin tissue, whereas Profhilo and skin boosters primarily hydrate and improve texture.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes – it’s commonly combined with Botox, dermal filler, chemical peels, profhilo and more. Especially effective under the eyes where filler may not be ideal.

    Does it hurt?

Discomfort is minimal and numbing cream is used for your comfort.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Absolutely – it’s often used to treat rosacea, inflammation, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

How soon will I notice results?

You’ll begin to notice subtle improvements 2–3 weeks after your first session. Optimal results are seen after your third session.
